As an assistant D.A., Alicia supervised the following areas in the D.A.’s office:
- Child Protective Service prosecutions;
- Children’s Advocacy prosecutions;
- Juvenile prosecutions; and
- Sexual Assault prosecutions.
- Chief Prosecutor in each of the three Smith County District Criminal Courts
- Assisted in budgeting, hiring and media relations
- Course presentations at the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault Conference (2001), Tyler Jr. College Law Enforcement Academy & the Smith County Peace Officer’s Association

HONORS
Recipient of the East Texas Crisis Center Hope Award in 2001 for outstanding prosecution of sexual assault cases in Smith County and again in 2003 for outstanding pro bono representation of domestic violence victims.
Certificate of Appreciation from Smith County Bar Association for outstanding volunteer attorney service in 2003, and named 2003 “Rookie of the Year” by the Smith County Bar - Family Law Section.
